General Update

June 4, 2008 – 12:42 pm

You’ve probably noticed I haven’t updated in a bit. Let me provide you with five reasons:

1. Articles: I just published an article on materials: http://www.insideria.com/2008/05/textures-wireframe-bitmap-movi-1.html and I have another one coming up soon on “movement”.

2. Relaunch: Let’s face it, a blog just isn’t cutting it any more. Sometime early next week I’ll be archiving the blog and moving to a drupal installation to organize all the tutorials in a “book” format.

3. Video Tutorial Hosting: I’m working out a sponsorship deal with Influxis (Influxis rocks!) where they will host my videos. I’ve been transferring hundreds of gigs of video data so I just couldn’t afford, literally, to produce any more videos. Thankfully, this also means I can drop all of the google ads of my site since I’ll no longer need their support.

4. Documentation: As the official launch of Papervision3D 2.0 final draws nearer (it’s coming soon, we promise), I’ve been assigned the task of documenting the beast.

5. Consulting: As you can probably tell from this site, I love teaching. So I’ve started offering in-person day-long Papervision3D workshops. If your business is interested in having me come out to train you on Papervision3D, send an e-mail to consulting@pv3d.org and we can work out the details.

FAQs and Other Resources

May 21, 2008 – 11:44 pm

If you have a keen eye, you probably noticed two new tabs at the top of the page:

FAQs

and

Other Resources

For FAQs, I’m just trying to answer the most general questions that everyone asks when getting started with pv3d. If you have a question you hear all the time let me know.

For Other Resources, I’m gathering all the tutorials I can find around the web and trying to organize them onto one page. Again, if you have a tutorial that I’ve missed, let me know.

Go3D- Official Tweening Engine for Papervision3D

May 20, 2008 – 2:34 am

John Grden has been cranking out a project called Go3D to help us all have more control over moving objects in 3d space. Read about it here: http://www.rockonflash.com/blog/?p=121

Or jump right into the source from here: http://goplayground.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/JohnGrden/GO3D

I’ll put up a video tutorial shortly of how to get up and running with Go3D.
